Following contemporary discourse on patterning, Animated Tessellation is a proposal for an fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) cladding system that devises distinctive lighting and insulative qualities through a pattern of gradual apertures and creases. Emerging from a simple hexagonal pattern, the tessellation grows in complexity and linework density, which allows it to respond to programmatic factors behind the cladding while creating an animated surface of light, shades, and apertures.
